Inspired by the forms, textures and colors found in nature and in cities, designer Karen Karlström finds herself pushing the limits of pillow design with unique pattern, textile and color combinations more often seen in the world of fashion. Influences in her work come simultaneously from past studies and practice in graphic design, painting and photography. A road that has enriched her style and design sense and given her a distinctive and open outlook into the world of textiles.

Karen likens the process to painting a canvas, exploring a world of fabrics and coming out in the end with what she feels is a true expression of her sensibilities. After a journey through fashion, product and ambient styling for photography in the United States and for the high-end, contemporary furniture industry in Italy, Karen opened her atelier upon settling in Switzerland in 2003.
